Dr. Cooley and Dr. Vick offer every treatment you would expect to find at a top-quality general dentistry practice – and then some. Below is a list of common services we provide. Please feel free to call if you have any questions or you would like to learn more about a specific treatment.
Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy becomes necessary when the inner tissues within a patient's teeth roots become infected. This tissue, called pulp, causes pain, swelling, and eventually tooth loss if left untreated, as it spreads infection to surrounding tissues. During root canal therapy, Dr. Cooley and Dr. Vick remove this pulp and other infected tissues, then clean the inside of a patient’s tooth. Next, he fills the tooth and covers it with a dental crown. A dental crown fits snugly over and protects patients’ weakened natural teeth.
Tooth-colored fillings are much more aesthetically pleasing than the old amalgam fillings. Also, some research is pointing to them being the healthier option, as well.
Oral hygiene is a necessity in maintaining optimal oral health. Our team is excellent at doing the little things (like teeth cleaning) as well as the big things. We make oral hygiene comfortable and even enjoyable.
We offer a full range of periodontal treatments. These include oral cancer screening, scaling and root planing, gingivectomy, and treatment for early-stage gum disease. To ensure that your gums are healthy and disease-free, Drs. Cooley and Vick use the latest diagnostic and treatment technology. Your gums are an essential part of your oral health care, and gum disease is the number-one cause of tooth loss. If your gums are red or swollen, you should immediately make an appointment with us.
Salivary DNA Test
Salivary DNA tests are an excellent way to diagnose gum disease and other oral and overall health conditions. In the past, inflammation, bad breath, and visible symptoms were the only ways to detect periodontal disease. Now, using salivary DNA tests and diagnostic imaging, we can identify conditions that may not have even developed symptoms yet. Early detection means earlier treatment, which is ultimately best for you and your family’s health.
"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Dr. Cooley's and Dr. Vick's expert eyes will identify potential issues before they get painful and expensive. Regular visits to the dentist pay off in the long run. Our general dentistry services have you covered.
